Oak Wood

Description: The term oak can be used as part of the common name of any of several hundred species of trees and shrubs in the genus Quercus (from Latin "oak tree").
Availability: Oak wood is readily available.
Special Note: The wood used in this pen was salvaged from a private boat destroyed and submerged in the flood waters of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. The submersion has given the wood a lovely gray patina.
